Preview: Week of November 23, 2015
After a successful Maroon and White Night this past Thursday, it's time to look ahead to what's in store for the Porters this week.
This Wednesday, 11/25, Lockport is hosting its first competition of the season - a dual meet against West Aurora. Please note, this dual will be held at CENTRAL CAMPUS.
**Making this dual extra important to the team is that this meet is also a fundraiser for JDRF. Wrestling begins on the Freshman and JV levels at 4pm, with Varsity scheduled to begin at 6pm. There is an admission fee of $3 for this meet. Additionally, there will be a best dressed coaches competition, where each vote costs $1. We will also be raffling off 4 tickets to a Blackhawks game and 2 court side seats to a Bulls game. All proceeds from the ticket sales, best-dressed competition, and raffle will be donated to JDRF. Please join us in supporting not only our wrestlers, but a great cause as well! At the bottom of this post is the flyer; please feel free to share it wherever you'd like.**
Special thanks to junior Abdullah Assaf for organizing the event and freshman Baylor Fernandes for designing the pre-ordered shirts as well.
On Saturday, 11/28, Lockport will host its first quad of the season at home at East Campus. Joining us will be Belleville East, Minooka, and Mt. Carmel, who is currently ranked #2 in 2A by Illinois Best Weekly, as well as #36 in the country by InterMat. Come out and support what should be a great day of wrestling!
