Summary

On Saturday, Lockport hosted its second mega-dual of the year, and swept all three duals on the day.  The Porters, still missing roughly half their starters, defeated Neuqua Valley, 52-10; Glenbard North, 42-22; and Metea Valley, 44-32.

Posting 3-0 records on the day were Matt Ramos (106), Brandon Ramos (126), Trevell Timmons (152/160), George Wolfe (152/160), and Ronald Tucker (285).  Also undefeated on the day, with a 2-0 record was Dan Stojsavljevic (220).

Several other Porters posted 2-1 records on the day, including Garrett Golob (120), Dalton Dwyer (138), Nick Dado (170/182), and Mike Scurlock (170/182).

Matt Kronsbein split his two matches at 113, his loss coming after an overtime takedown.  Zach Reese (145) and Austin Atwood (195) each posted 1-2 records on the day.  Three other Porters - Jake Cook (113), David Balderrama (220), and Matt Mahalik (138) took the mat on the day but were unable to secure victories.

Although it was not the closest dual meet of the day, the second dual, pitting the 5th ranked Porters against the 9th ranked Glenbard North Panthers, was the most anticipated match up.  Lockport, missing nearly half its starters, controlled the dual, only being behind after the first match.  Glenbard North was missing its top wrestler, Austin Gomez, who is ranked 4th nationally by InterMat, and the top 126 pound wrestler in the state, but had an otherwise full lineup.

The marquee matchup of the day ended up being a result of Gomez being out.  Instead of seeing Gomez vs. B. Ramos, GBN decided to bump 7th ranked 120 pounder, Austin Assad, up to 126 to take on Ramos instead.  In a low scoring match, Ramos, an honorable mention at 126, picked up a controlled 4-2 decision victory over Assad.
