In what will hopefully be a weekly feature we will be looking back at the week that was and previewing the week ahead.
We started practice on Monday 11/9 and are excited to have over 100 wrestlers this season. Since we haven't competed yet I'm going to use this time to give a little season preview.
This team returns a strong core from last year's team that took 4th in the State, including State Champion Shayne Oster and Placers Trevell Timmons and Abdullah Assaf. Joining them is State Qualifier Brandon Ramos who transferred after spending his first two years at St. Lawrence. Additionally, Dalton Dwyer, Brendan Ramsey and George Wolfe were all Sectional Qualifiers last season. The first chance to see the Porters compete will be this Thursday at our Maroon and White Night wrestling begins at 5:30.
On the Alumni front we had several Alumni compete this weekend, highlights include:
Brad Johnson Oklahoma University - 3-0 at the Northeast Duals including a win over the #19 wrestler in the country
Jameson Oster Northwestern University - Went 3-0 before reagravating an injury and defaulting to 6th at the Michigan State Open
Chris Murino Central College - Top 6 at the Platteville Open
